received a call from 651-900-142 this morning and a gentleman on the other end of the phone told me that I was having problems with my pc and that I needed to sign on to my computer for him as he was with MicroSoft and I have someone trying to hack into my computer. When I told him I wasn't by my computer he asked me to give him a time to return his call to help me with my hacker problem. I asked him for a number that I could call him back on and he told me 302-482-8155 and that he would be at that number from 10 am to 8 pm eastern standard time and that he also worked for MicroSoft. He told me his name was Sam Smith.

Foreign (middle eastern) accented man called wife's cell phone, verified her Facebook email address and said he was from Microsoft and that someone was trying to hack into our computer for the last couple of weeks. # 1 red flag: our computer was off and unplugged as well as our wireless router because we have been gone for 2 weeks. I couldn't understand how someone could hack something that really wasn't even there. # 2 red flag: couldn't give me dates when these "hacks" covered. He wanted me to give him access to my computer so he could "fix" the problem. Sorry, I have a son who has all the Microsoft credentials and he says Microsoft tech support does NOT call unsolicited.
