She said she was from Microsoft and asked if what she read to me was my email address. Her name was Jean Smith, and that my email was being used for nefarious purposes. I would not let her have access to my iMAC, and she said she would give me to her boss as I kept asking question after question. I never got the boss as she hung up on me.

Got a call that came up unavailable. I answered and the man said is name was Eric Jones (with a hard India accent),and that he was tech from Microsoft and they received a notice that there was a problem with my computer and asked if I was in front of my computer right now. I said no..he said to get on and then asked me if my email address was .....something weird I couldn't make it out...so I said YES. He kept repeating he was from Microsoft. I told him I was busy at the moment in another room...and I was...I told him my comp was working fine yesterday , no problems...he insisted that there was. So I asked him for a phone number to call him back later when I have time..he gave me 302-482-8155 and said to make sure I ask for Eric Jones...he kept repeating that was his name and I was to ask for him. In the background you could hear a lot of noise , like machines and a bunch of people talking. He is waiting for my call.

They called me from 000000000 & I told them to call me back in 5 min . When they called back , I asked what the error message was but they wouldn't give me a direct answer. They kept insisting that I need to log on to my computer & they still wouldn't tell me what the problem was. My mother got on the phone & told them not to call this number back anymore. Of course they did but I got their number blocked.

The scam call actually came in on 416-364-1115 (an Ontario number). But when I asked the "Microsoft technician for his name and a number where I could call him back, he gave me Antonio Bush, and 302-482-8155. (He did not sound like an Antonio or a Bush.)

My husband received a call on his cell phone saying that they were Microsoft and someone was trying to hack into our computer. I was immediately suspicious when the Indian caller could not pronounce our last name and was somewhat unintelligible. When I told him that I doubted that Microsoft was calling him, he said that he would verify all of our information to prove it...pretty tricky, huh? I let him blather on for awhile and asked for a number that I could verify that it was indeed Microsoft and this is the number he gave me. This is a SCAM. Beware!

called and told me he was from Microsoft and one of my emails (for my personal website, that I have via godaddy) was being hacked and that it was their "duty" to show me the problem and to then fix it. He called and asked for my husband, who has NEVER been associated with the email in question. I'm not sure how these folks put my email and my husband's name together. What's funny is that I use this email just for BS offers, etc (when they ask for it at a store, I give them this one - not the email I regularly use), Knowing that Microsoft wouldn't call me and offer to help if my PC and I were both on fire, I asked for a # to call back and this is what was provided.

I received phone call while I was having a problem ordering from TOMMY COPPER'S website. Randy said he was from Microsoft and they were getting error messages showing that I was having a problem. i asked how he got my name and phone number. He said the info was obtained when I registered my computer with Microsoft. He said he could fix my computer & had me pull up an remote control screen that had my ID number and a password. I stupidly gave him these numbers & he gained remote control of my computer. I could see him open a "cleaner" tool & begin to scan. He moved other things around and it all seemed legit. Randy said I would have unlimited help from Microsoft for 2 years for $149. Randy then transferred me to another person that gave the same sales pitch & asked what credit card I was going to use. I told him MASTERCARD, but he didn't take any info about card at that time. He said not to touch computer for 2 hours while they worked remotely. (I could still see things happening on my monitor) He said he would call back when completed & get my credit card info. I hung up & called Microsoft. I was told that I had been scammed. Microsoft went in & straightened everything out. (for a price, of course) So glad I didn't give up any credit card info.
