Caller with thick accent claimed to be with the "US Grant Dept" told me I was selected to receive a $7000 grant. He was very frustrated when I asked questions which only inspired me to ask more. I played along. He gave me the option of receiving my $7000 through a bank transfer, Mastercard, Visa, debit card or cash. I chose cash. He told me to receive the cash I would have to call the number 315-567-4631 to speak to his supervisor. I complied (because I was having too much fun). The "Supervisor" told me that in order to receive the cash I would need to pay a $234.00 "clearing" fee via Western Union and instructed me to call him from the Western Union for more details. I still haven't found a Western Union office but someday I'll get my $7000.00.

I received a voicemail from 315-282-2022. A foreign guy with a VERY HEAVY accent talking from a script obviously said that his name was "John Smith" from the Deptartment of Justice and that I had to call him immediately to resolve a legal issue. And that it is time sensitive and that he can help me if I call him. The next day I received a voicemail from the same man but calling from 347-607-3633 saying his name was ....no joke..."christmas" !? from the department of justice. He as basically saying that if I dont call him and resolve a legal issue that he cannot disclose over voicemail I will be in a lot of legal trouble. What is going on?? I'm freaked out because he claims he is from the department of justice, yet I know I havent done anything wrong and his name is John Smith and another time his name is christmas!!

there are three number involved in this scam, the following: 630-447-0040,315-21-0556, 1888-250-3763. this number 630-447-0040 (with "Dave" a male voice who leave the message) shows on my caller ID, a voice of a man "Dave" leaves a message to call back to 315-218-0556, a woman named "Kendra" answer and she gives another number 1-888-250-3763 the woman ask for money in return for a "big" project they have in California. Got three text messages, all of them sounded as if they knew me but I think they most likely got the wrong number. The user if this number apparently loved melons.... :D
