Kept on insisting it was "urgent" and that he needed to speak with the owner. I told him I would not let him speak to anyone unless he told me what and why. Finally got out of him that it was fraudulent activity on our merchant account. Since I handle that and I know that is no problem with our merchant accounts, I told him so and hung up. Second call within 30 seconds!

Very loud "boiler room" sound in background. Guy asked for owner. Told him it was me. He launched into a sales pitch for credit card processing. I told him I was very happy with who I had and didn't want to change. I thanked him "for thinking of me" and said good-bye. He interrupted with "you wouldn't have to change." I said "I've got a customer, must go. Bye." Before I hung up he said sarcastically, "I'm sure you do." Rude and bullying. How on earth do they think they'll sell anything with this kind of call???

Multiple harassing calls from the same number within 10 minutes. Only solution is to hang up. Perhaps blast them with a FAX tone. Am referring their number to the appropriate folks to attempt to put an end to it. Let's push our representatives to adopt Canada's approach to SPAM, for email AND phone. If they're serious about helping small businesses, stopping these kinds of folks would be a big step forward!

I get these calls almost daily - I make sure to tell them not to call back and to put us on their no call list. I log each call. If I have a few minutes to chat I try to explain to the caller that this harassment is really not working with me. I am the least likely person who would do anything that they would like me to do. One of the Many callers from this outfit, Ace 76 Enterprises, 390 N Orange Ave STE 200, Orlando, FL 32801-1685, admitted to me that he only does the job because he hit an all-time personal low and needs the money. He said that he was a looser. He said that his boss, Mr. Matthew Wiltsey, tells them to keep calling businesses until they finally make and appointment with a sales person. This caller said that when he sees the owner of Ace 76, he feels better about himself because, he said that Mr. Matthew Wiltsey is a world class looser. I made the appointment and when the sales person arrives I will use up his or her time as Ace 76 has used up my time.

Been calling my business everyday for a while and I try to be polite and each time they get ruder. Today they were shouting at me and being very harassing. Do we wall the Florida attorney general? This is ridiculous. Nt a good way to start the day. The say they'd do not have a list to remove me from, they say I have to make an appointment. Nope, but I also asked to speak to supervisor and wouldn't allow me to continued to escalate and get louder. What's can we legally do as business owners?

As Jean reports in her comments: I received a phone call from someone at this number that sounded like a young man asking to speak to the owner. I replied I was one of the owners. The caller proceeded with the pitch and I interrupted informing them that we used a cellphone as a business line and did not appreciate telemarketers calling using up our minutes. I asked if we had an account with the company the caller was representing which I never got an answer to, and the caller proceeded with the pitch, informing me that their company was going to have someone in our area tomorrow who could explain everything and wanted to know if that would be convenient for us. I repeated my question as to whether we had an account with them, to which I still received NO answer! I continued by stating, 'Sir, I asked if we had an account with you', to which I was rudely informed that the caller was a woman and that what she and her company was doing was required by law, then SHE hung up in mid conversation! Disturbed at the conversation and concerned that there MIGHT be a chance that we, in fact, did have an account with that company, and wanting to know for sure as well as whether it was required by law, I got online at White Pages dot com and Reverse Searched the phone number which on our cellphone identified the caller as 'No Name'. Learning from White Pages that the number was a CenturyLink landline in Orlando, Florida, I redialed the number and when the call was answered by a Katerina with NO mention of the business whom she worked for and the phone number belonged to, I asked politely what company I was calling. She told me. I asked what kind of business she was representing to which I was told they were a Merchant Sales processing company. I told her of the rude phone call I had just received and asked her if we had an account with them, to which she replied no, that our phone number and company name had appeared on their list as being qualified for their new sales processing program. She asked if I caught the name of the person who called originally, to which I replied no. I then inquired as to the claim of their contact with us being required by law to which I was told, 'No'. Immediately I informed Katerina that I wished to register a complaint with her and/or whoever in her company handled complaints and stated that I would be looking to file a complaint with whatever authorities I could. She assured me she would make sure our phone number and company name were removed from their list. QUESTION: Why is it that telemarketing companies either feel they have the right or are given the right by government agencies to randomly call businesses or individuals attempting to solicit their business to the total disregard of the rights of businesses and individuals to NOT be harassed, sometimes several times a day or a week, in their attempt to solicit business; and in the process use up valuable minutes, data, and time of business owners or individuals in this DIGITAL AGE? Back before the advent of cell phones when land lines were the ONLY means of communication, monthly bills provided service for a flat rate and incoming calls did not effect that rate, therefore telemarketers were merely a nuisance rather than an unwanted expense for the business or individual! WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR RIGHTS AS BUSINESS OWNERS AND INDIVIDUALS TO NOT BE BOTHERED OR HARASSED WITH UNWANTED AND UNSOLICITED PHONE CALLS THAT NOW COST US MINUTES ON OUR CELL PHONES AND THEREFORE MONEY! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! From the comments of others here on this website, I will wait and see whether, in fact, we receive any more phone calls from this company (one of several that continually have been calling our business line daily, and who usually refuse to speak once I have answered the phone with, 'Good morning (afternoon), Shear Traditions, this is Dan, can I help you?' If you are willing to dial our number regardless of whether we initiated contact with you, and use up valuable minutes which cost our business money, not to mention the time we waste answering your call, then WHY do you not speak up and state your business instead of remaining silent extending the call and/or just hanging up?
