the first call they demanded for me to be put on the phone but refused to tell me whom the company they represented was. I told her that she had to tell me the name of the company she represents. She refused stating that the law prevents them from divulging that information if they are not speaking with the person whom they called. I told her to take this number off her calling list. She told me it wasn't a calling list and that this was information I submitted recently. I told her, "if your going to make up lies then please make it something new and interesting. I have done nothing in the least with any information let alone to people to call me willy-nilly. Take my number of your calling list!" She hung up on me. I used the number they called me from originally and called them. They answered unprofessionally, with may I help you. If your a legitimate business don't you want to represent it by your call staff?? I asked what company that she represents and she already knew who I was and said is this "my name" I replied I would like to know what company this was. She said she wasn't going to give me that information without knowing if I'm the target or not. I told her I was going to report them for being so unprofessional and if I'm not mistaken isn't it against the law still for them to contact us after we tell them to not call us again? Or for them to hang up on me? Because that's exactly what she did.

In my situation it's a medical collection agency. Here's the deal with them though: when I had my accident, resulting in the loss of my right leg, I eventually qualified for Medicaid and they retro-qualified me for the time this bill was incurred ($4600). Better yet, the hospital that turned me to collections is the same one that started me on and was tracking my Medicaid approval. Both institutions have all the information they need to get this bill paid, but they want me to do all the work. I refused, so I'm now being told that even though they admit there was a paperwork error, it's too late for them to collect and falls to my personal responsibility. I'm on permanent disability and this would, after court cost, etc, well over half my annual income. They're forcing me into bankruptcy immediately as they are suing. Watch these scumbags because they are relentless and will go after you!
