I received a call from a private number that was forward. They told me that I have been selected by the government to receive $7,000. I was given the number 1-509-295-6828. I was to call and ask for Michael. I would give him the grant number GR-4011. Then I would be directed with an option to either have the money sent to Western Union or to allow them to put the money on my debit or credit card.

This is a scam. They claim you are eligible for free grant money for having a good record. Requests, you pay a bank to bank surcharge of $200 something and head to your nearest Western Union for successful transfer. Per Ms. Denise Warren, their website is grants.gov. I contacted grants.gov to verify this and they stated it is a SCAM. I was informed that they would never provide funds for personal use, request you pay a surcharge nor use Western Union as a way of transferring funds to you. I was then advised to contact the Attorney General office closest to me to cut down on this fraud in my community.
