He called and said that my name and number came up for a US Government Grant in the amount of $5000. When he proceeded to ask me how I wanted to receive the money, I told him that I didn't and he said f**k you and hang up the phone. His accent left immediately when he said that.

Caller opened with - "my name & number have been randomly by the government to receive a cash award to use at my discretion". I yelled an extreme amount of profanity at him & then hung up. When re-dialed, got the automated message - "the number you have dialed is not in service. Please check the number and try again".

This is obviously a bunch of scam artist trying to get the person who answers the phone to give them their name and address along with their checking or saving information or credit card information. The caller (an Indian sounding woman) claimed to be with the US Grant office and wants to give you $8,500 by Checking/Savings deposit, Western Union cash pickup, or Credit/Debit card. She refused to give me a supervisor immediately upon request and after repeated requests for a supervisor an male who sounded Indian came on the phone. This is a huge scam. Don't give out your info to anyone.
