I believe this is a spam recorded voicemail. Of course I didn't call the number back but some people might get frightened by the message and call back, and who knows what will happen when they call back. The message was in a slightly British accent. I transcribed the call verbatim, with 2 blanks where I couldn't understand the word: “Hi, my name is Pete Martin and this message is intended to contact you regarding an enforcement action executed by the United States Treasury intending your (serious?) _______ attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid _____ appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense. My number is 646-395-0816, I repeat 646-395-0816. I’d like you to cooperate with us and help us to help you. Thank you.”

I transcribed this call verbatim (with two blanks where I couldn't understand the word). Caller seemed to have a slightly British accent. The call came at 8:39 in the morning and then again at 9:32 the exact same recording again. I'm sure it's spam, but it's unsettling, and I'm afraid elderly people will call the number. Here is the message: “Hi, my name is Pete Martin and this message is intended to contact you regarding an enforcement action executed by the United States Treasury intending your (serious?) _______ attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid _____ appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense. My number is 646-395-0816, I repeat 646-395-0816. I’d like you to cooperate with us and help us to help you. Thank you.”

Caller left a message regarding "enforcement action" by the "US Treasury" and something to do with a "Federal Criminal Offense". Stated his name was Keith Markin or something like that - too difficult to understand due to his accent. Will never call back

Two identical recordings in voicemail that claimed impending "enforcement action" by US Treasury for "federal criminal offense". Must be a scam -- the IRS does not contact people by phone.

Man with British accent called and left message, presumable from the US Treasury. I called back and left a message, shortly thereafter, a man with an Asian accent called back and said I was delinquent on back Fed taxes, which is crap. Also that they have been trying to contact me for four years, also crap. Threatened to send Treasury cops to my house within 40 minutes to show me evidence and arrest me. Jail sentence is one year. I expressed my outrage of not having been notified of any of this, he had no evidence that I was avoiding them, and that I will be waiting for the treasury cops with my lawyer. He immediately disconnected the call. This made me assume this is fraud, does anyone know how I can prosecute/file charges?
