I didn't recognize this number because my partner usually receives calls on him phone, but it is legitimate. They were calling to tell us that a motion detector went off in the basement of our other home, and that the police were dispatched.

This is an alarm central station calling on alarm signals. They will not leave a message at your home because they don't want a thief to know there calling. Some people still use answering machines to screen there calls before picking up so if they were to leave a message saying there sending the police your life could be in danger. THIS IS NOT SPAM.

asked if it was the police station... apologized then hung up... WTH - you'd think they know the police station - came up as monitoring Cent on caller ID.
