877-489 is not a valid prefix. If you are sure that you got a phone call from a number beginning with this prefix, the caller may have 'spoofed' caller ID.
It's actually not a scam. it is Verizon. When i went to the store with the account number they gave me, i actually had to call this number back. apparently, the number is not available online because people would call it for regular situation. But no, it's not a scam--unfortunately. I'm still trying to negotiate with them because i definitely don't owe verizon for a portion of that bill. they suspended my line almost a month after i had asked them too. assholes.
