"An error message appeared on my laptop telling me to call this number. The man identified himself as "Ziad" and claimed he was a "windows tech support supervisor" and he needed to check to see if my laptop had been infected with malware or a virus. He remotely took control of my laptop and showed me over 55,000 errors being reported from my laptop. The he told me he could removed the malware for a one time charge of $149.95. I told him I had no money, so then he offered to do half now and half next month. He said in order to fix this, I WOULD HAVE TO LEAVE MY COMPUTER ON AND NOT TOUCH IT FOR ABOUT 5 HOURS". I then IMMEDIATLY disconnected his remote control, but kept talking like I was very interested in getting my laptop fixed. He told me he was Lebanese but spent his entire life in Boca Raton, Florida. I told him I had no money, so he said I could call him back at (877)915-6848. After doing the research and finding out his attempt to scam me, I called him back at the above number which DOES work. (877)915-6848
I said what I needed to say and hung up, blocked the number, and took the battery and hard drive out of my laptop. I can only assume that the "leave it on and don't touch it for 5 hours" is what they needed to copy everything from my laptop. "ZIAD", YOU ARE A LYING POS! AND TAKING YOU DOWN IS MY LIFE GOAL. ROT IN H*LL!"
